About Ginny:

Ginny at malvern.JPG

Ginny Morton is an artist living in Oxford, Pa. A retired science teacher, her painting grew from the many illustrations she provided to the students in her classroom. Ginny's love and admiration of the natural world is seen in her subject matter.

Her focus is animal art - and custom portraits: "I try to create pieces that make the viewer happy to look at and I may add a touch of whimsy to provoke interest. For me, painting is about exploring the natural world around me and the relationships we have with our fellow creatures".

Never having attended a formal art school, Ginny is  mostly self taught.  However, growing up in Chester County exposed her to artists from The Howard Pyle School of Illustrators; Harvey Dunn, Frank Schoonover, and Maxfield Parish who influenced her in different ways.
